How do we measure time?
On December 30th three years ago,
we were on Rapa Nui.
Easter Island.
A tiny island with a long history.
Three years ago we stood staring
at rows of massive stone faces,
and clusters of immortal families.
The incredible Moai …
monuments left by carvers,
carriers, dreamers, believers.
Ordinary people creating massive impact.
There are so many stories …
so many theories.
Did they set out to amaze the world?
Were they trying to outshine their neighbours?
Were they honouring their gods?
It doesn’t matter how long it took to create the moai.
It doesn’t matter how long it took for the world to discover them.
It doesn’t matter that we don’t fully understand why.
What matters is that they did something.
They didn’t stop to worry how long it would take.
They acted.
They left their mark.
They left physical evidence of possibilities.
If you didn’t worry how long it would take,
What would you do?
