“What’s your best leadership quality?”
I used to say Mentoring.
It’s what people told me …
That I was a teacher.
I was patiently impatient.
I helped them grow and advance.
But I recently realized my true strength …
I challenge people.
I take people to the brink
of their comfort zone …
and the future waiting for them.
That’s where growth is.
I believe in people.
I want to see them take their next step.
To go beyond what they think their limits are.
I want them to believe in themselves.
Their possibilities.
Sometimes I have to hold my tongue.
Sometimes I have to hold my breath.
Sometimes I have to hold people.
But challenging people to step into their fullness …
That’s my leadership style
and my greatest thrill.
